Small tools, clearly explained
Many PDF jobs are simple: keep a few pages, divide a report, or separate a scanned packet. The software should feel equally simple. Dismerge PDF avoids accounts, dashboards, cloud folders, and unrelated editing controls when the task does not need them.
Built independently in South Africa
Dismerge PDF is built and maintained by Gidian Bateman, a solo software developer based in South Africa. I design, develop, test, document, and support the site independently.
Product claims and guides are based on the behavior of the live tool and documented browser workflows. I test core splitting modes with sample PDFs and update the content when supported features or limitations change.
Local processing is the product
The split tool reads and rebuilds files inside the browser. Dismerge PDF does not provide a PDF upload endpoint. This architecture reduces waiting, avoids retaining documents on a server, and creates a privacy promise that can be explained without a deletion timer.
An honest scope
The first release supports every-page splitting, selected-page extraction, and custom ranges. Password-protected PDFs, OCR, merging, compression, conversion, and cloud storage are outside the MVP. New tools will use the same focused, local-first approach where browser technology makes that practical.
Supported by useful content
Dismerge PDF may use clearly labelled advertising around editorial content. Ads never belong inside the file workspace, next to upload or download controls, or between a result and its download. Advertising and optional analytics can make their own network requests, but PDF bytes remain local.
