When individual-page PDFs are useful
One-file-per-page output works well for scanned forms, certificates, invoices, artwork proofs, and document packets that need to be routed separately. It is less suitable when readers need page context or when hundreds of files will immediately be recombined.
Before splitting, decide where the files will be stored. A 100-page source creates 100 PDFs, so a dedicated folder prevents them from mixing with unrelated downloads.
Create one PDF for every page
- Open the splitter.Choose one PDF from your device.
- Leave Every page selected.The preview shows the number of planned outputs.
- Select Split PDF.Each page is copied into a new one-page document.
- Download the ZIP.Extract it into a folder to see the numbered PDFs.
Understand the output filenames
Files use the source name followed by a zero-padded page number. A document named report.pdf produces names such as report-page-001.pdf and report-page-012.pdf. Padding keeps the files in the correct order when sorted by name.
Unsafe filename characters are replaced before the download is created. The ZIP uses the recognizable source name followed by -split.zip.
Know the practical limits
The MVP caps individual-page output at 500 files. This protects memory while creating both the PDFs and their ZIP archive. For a larger document, use Selected pages or Page ranges to create fewer outputs.
Splitting does not make the combined contents substantially smaller. Each new PDF has its own document overhead, so the ZIP can be similar in size—or occasionally larger—than the original PDF.
